Tribes Bill Whittle over at "Eject! Eject! Eject!" is one of the best Essayists in the blogosphere. He's been in our list of Favorite Feeds since we first started looking for feeds to populate our SharpReader with. His latest essay, "Tribes", is excellent reading. Normally I would quote a few choice tidbits to try and entice you into checking it out, but that would be a disservice to the compelling tension that Bill creates when he writes.

...That Smell You can smell it as soon as you open that virtual door. You can't quite put your finger on it, but there's something heavy and sickly-sweet in the air tonight; it clings closely to the ground, as if desperately trying to escape attention. Too late. Someone didn't hide the bodies too well, and the blogbarians are out in force. Rumors of a program that was shut down just as Dubya was taking office; a data mining program that had already identified one or more of the 9/11 bombers. Rumors of extensive Iraqi terror activities in Germany, where the 9/11 bombers were based out of. ...rumors that, if true, make Sandy Berger's sock stuffing expedition a lot more sane and sensible. If you're going venture out into the blogosphere to do a little blog-hopping tonight, you might want to wear your side arm. It's going to get messy real soon. Some Required Reading:

Free the Bloggers! Hat Tip to Michelle Malkin and the Committee to Protect Bloggers for letting us know about Arash and Mojtaba, two Iranian Bloggers that have been jailed for the opinions they expressed on their weblogs. Arash is still in jail, Mojtaba spent the last three months in prison, and is still facing charges. Februrary 22nd is Free Arash and Mojtaba day. If all the governments in the world were accountable to the people they ruled, and everyone was free to say what they wished to say, do you think war would even be possible? Certainly not as we know it. I'm sure that the Manolo would agree. Super Fantastic Shoes for everyone!
