Faiza replies

As you have recently read, I wrote a letter to Faiza, an Iraqi mother who lives in Bagdhad and has her own blog: afamilyinbaghdad.blogspot.com.

It was a short letter, mostly a combination of introspection and apology. After spending a few hours reading her Blog entires some sort of apology seemed necessary, or at least my heavy heart demanded it of me. If you read it, you may be interested in Faiza's reply...

well,no, you are not naive, but it`s your vision..
may be if I were an American , I would think like you :) if you live here, and you are Iraqi, you didn`t love saddam, but you can`t see America as an angel...
yes, there is wrong things, bad actions, evil, benefits for some groupes..
the papers are mixed, but you can fight to keep your mind clear and your vision clean.
I want you to think about Iraqi....and his daily suffering, and his dark future..
support him as brother to brother, defend about his rights of human..
just that ....
don`t have a political view, the political are corrupted and you can`t trust them..
thank you my dear...
wish you good days :)

Comment: One thing that strikes me after reading this, something that I have also thought in the past, is how much closer a conflict comes when one can relate to it person-to-person rather than on a larger scale. Any suffering and harm is so much harder to ignore when it is a real person who suffers, rather than un-named masses. Maybe that is a major failing that we humans should always remember. AnnS
